GOOGLE CALENDAR: CREATE A NEW EVENT USING DAY VIEW
GOOGLE CALENDAR: CREATE A NEW EVENT USING DAY VIEW
*This is a concept course.
Overview
This microlearning video was created to help train a team of nine at a small marketing firm in how to create a new event in Google Calendar from Day View. They were switching from Microsoft Suite to Google Suite in one month's time.
"The Pain"
Based on interviews with the owner as well as eight employees (a team of nine), only two of them reported being, "comfortable using," or "very comfortable using" Google Calendar, in general. The other seven reported being less then comfortable using it.
When asked to rank a list of Google Calendar tasks by "importance" and "urgency," numbers one and two on each list, respectively, were "See a more detailed schedule for one day," and "Create a new event."
Solution
This microlearning Camtasia module, "Google Calendar: Create a New Event Using Day View," used a simple scenario - You have a busy day, and need to add one more event to it- to combine their two important, urgent tasks into one training.
Results and Post-Training Evaluation
Immediately after viewing the video, and taking a final assessment, all nine team members reported in a survey that they felt "very confident" in "getting in and out of day view," and "scheduling a new event from day view".
Nine out of nine also reported that the learning experience was clear, to the point, easy to understand, educational, and accessible.
Five weeks later, one week after they officially switched to Google Suite, all nine team members reported being "very confident" in "getting in and out of day view," and "creating an event from day view".
